Week 16 - Operator & AAS Posted on 2018-06-23 by Kyle Ellis

This week's chapter was on Operator & AAS. The reading was informative and I liked that it had many examples and a project file to mess around with and see how everything works with one another. As the book puts it, Operator is very complex and it is exciting to be able to play around and make many different sounds. As for now, I'll probably still be looking up tutorials on how to sound design different things until I get the hang of it more and really start organically creating my own sounds.

Each week I am adding more followers on Instagram and contacting artists to see if they want to collaborate. I still have two artists that are working on vocal parts for two tracks and one possible artist that I may bring into the studio to record her new album. I may be selected by her to mix and master her recordings, which I am excited to take on the challenge as I have never done that for anyone else yet.

My goal is to put the finishing touches on the two tracks I've been working on for about a month now. One of them is a trap song that needs a little more help designing the kick drum. The other is the ambient meloncholy track, which needs to go through a final masking check and then it will be ready to post publicly.

More to come soon, and hopefully more studio/vocal project work!
