This week was Digital Audio week. I learnered about sampling and quantizing a soundwave and the difference that a higher sample rate and a larger bit depth can make on a sample. The higher the sample rate the more accurate the sample and the larger the bit depth the more ways of describing a signal's amplitude. I also learned about the Nyquist Theorem and how any frequency over half the sample rate (the Nyquist frequency) cannot be accurately represented. A low pass filter can be added to eliminate any frequencies over the Nyquist frequency.
