This week started off strong with a lesson in drum sampling and the opportunity to help setup and record a podcast. Assisting in the podcast setup was a great experience and it strengthened my understanding of the patchbay as well because it was a very simple setup that solidified what I had began to learn in the first week. I also now know where nearly all of the outboard gear in the studio is and what it does, which makes the patchbay much more fun and a lot less intimidating. Donny has continued to give me great insight to the studio and the business side of things in addition to all of our talks of gear and mixing techniques. I'm looking forward to expanding my home project studio in the future and applying some of the equipment and the techniques I see being used at ES to my own recordings. Can't wait to see what Donny shows me next!
