Eddy MartinezLos Angeles Recording Connection

Major: Recording Engineering

I am 25 years old with an Associates degree in general studies with an emphasis in Humanities, and I am currently enrolled in the Recording Connection program. My love for music goes beyond the sound coming from my speakers. I can play the guitar and the piano, and I have been running my own mobile DJ service called DEsirable Productions since I was 17. I'm very passionate about creating my own music as well as remixing current hits. I intent to perfect my mixing, producing, and engineering skills while attending school and gaining more experience. I have DJ'd at several local events in the Los Angeles and Ventura County area all while holding a second job and going to school. My ambitions toward the music industry are endless, and I plan on doing whatever it takes to reach my goals.

Born in a house with 2 older sisters and an older brother, my opinions and ideas were often shut down by my older siblings, but I've always found ways to let my ideas out in a way that can be heard in a loud Italian household. Creativity started young for me, I always wanted to draw or get out the glue and popsickle sticks to create my next masterpeice! More than anything I wanted to be able to get my parents' attention and make them proud. Therefore, school was never an issue for me becuase I worked hard on all of my assingment, staying up till 2 or 3a.m. working on a 3-D model for biology or when I was in grade school I would pay close attention to detail in any project. Writing became second nature for me as well, and I got really good at poetry. Eventually, poetry turned into song lyrics, which created an incentive to pick up a guitar.

My father has also been a huge influence in my music ambitions. while I was just a little girl I could remember him and my mother carrying crate after crate filled with records to every one of my father's gigs. He was a wedding DJ, and he loved it. He had the power to get a group of people up on their feet and dancing to any song he played. He had to the power to make people smile and have fun on one of the most important days of their lives. He got really good at it, and as his MC skilled progessed, i knew i wanted to follow in his footsteps, but on a bigger scale.

I got involved in hip hop dance classes in high school, and that's when i realized how much love i had for the hip hop community.I grew an esteamed amount of respect for it, and the music just flowed through my veins like it were medicine. I thought how amazing it would be if I could produce a song like this, and from that point foward, it just hit me. I knew I wanted to take the inspiration that my father had delt me unknowingly, and the passion of a Krumper with the style of a B-boy, the grace of a jazz dancer, and the commitment and discipline of a ballarina. Being a female DJ gave me that opportunity, but i still itch for more. istead of playing songs that other poeple made, why not make my own? Audio Production became more and more appealing to me, and the technical side of the engineer also sparked my interests.

Today, I feel as though I can be what I set out to be, and that I'm never going to stop growing and improving. Even when I reach my goals, there may always be somebody better or in a higher position than I am, but at that point,  my next goal is to improve my skill to be better then THAT person's and to want more from my dreams.
