Lesson 12 Recording Connection Posted on 2013-07-30 by Alejandro Cruz

Lesson began at 12 noon ended around 3 pm. This weeks lesson was on signal processing and tone control. This lesson was abit compicated for me but Donny made it a bit easier to understand. Donny first started to explain a little bit about filters and peaking filters. The peaking filter is when you can adjust the different frequency's & a shelving filter is a eq that carries a signal to a rise or dip which levels off. He began to show me on pro-tools how each of these could be used and the different ways as well. We then went over a pass filter and how thats used to reduce a signals at extreme frequencies. The lesson was quite short so Donny asked me the stick around the studio not much was going on that day so i stayed for about 2 hours then finnaly headed home. We set up next week's appointment which is on compressors really looking forard to it.
