OC Recording Connection Ch.8 Posted on 2014-11-28 by Philip Bustamante

Thurs. Nov. 13th at 3:00 pm. I went into the studio where my mentor and I reviewed Lesson 8 that includes the following:

Ebverything in detail about Pro Tools. How to install it and how it works and functions.

I learned about the certain files associated with Pro Tools such as audio files. Any audio that you record in Pro Tools will be in this folder. The best thing is to name the audio tracks before recording them. Session file backup folders are very important because you can save your recent backup files and how Pro Tools will automaticlly save your sessions. Also the rendered files folder and how it holds temporary information but is non-essential to a session. I also seen how to load and use an instrument on Pro Tools with certain programs such as Expand 2 and Kontakt. I learned how to hook up a microphone as well as recording vocals on Pro Tools. My mentor also showed me how to cut and clip the certain instruments or beats you have recorded. Lastly we talked about the history and accolades of Avid and Pro Tools.

I continue to work and perform beats on Pro Tools learning alot more of the technical things such as editing or clipping. I'm getting more comfortable with inputs and outputs as well as continuing to improve everyday learning how to be a music producer and audio engineer. More confidence and familiarity with the keyboards and drum machine is also a plus. Gaining more experience doing these things on a daily basis will continue to make me grow as a professional and better yet a musician.
