OC Recording Connection Ch.10 Posted on 2015-01-13 by Philip Bustamante

Thurs. Dec.11th at 3:00 pm. I went into the studio where my mentor and I reviewed Lesson 10 that includes the following:

Everything in detail about plug-ins and processing. How plug-ins add capabilities to larger software. My mentor talked about the various plug-ins in his Pro-Tools software such as fab filter, melda, native instruments, etc. How Pro-Tools prefers to use AAX plug-ins rather than RTA and TDM plug-ins which were used before. We went in detail about inserts and sends and their differences. How inserts process 100% of the signal and how sends are used for time based effects. We talked about how there are 3 different inserts which are instrument, signal processor, and visual representation. My mentor continuosly stresses about file management and how important it is. We also went over the sample rate and bit depth we use preferably which is 44.1 khz, 16 bit. My mentor let me mix and chop up a song he previously recorded which was interesting. I continue to learn different things everyday which will benefit me in the future. I can't wait to see what's next. I continue to improve and grow as I continue my journey as being a music producer.
