Signal Processiong Review, 2013-03-25 Posted on 2013-03-25 by Jason Arca

We revisited the last few topics dealing with signal processing - E.Q., compressors, expanded, gates, and reverb. E.Q. Is ally a type of delay device where the delay is so small that it is almost like phasing. The length of the delay determines the frequency being adjusted. Compressors shape the envelope of a sound. You should always compress first before you E.Q. With ProTools, I was received an error message that I didn't have enough CPU resources. Michael said I should try allocating more RAM to the program. Also, he confirmed that I need a separate hard drive to record audio. Today, he was recording Blue Grass music, with a banjo player and a guitar player. When miking the banjo, only one mic was needed placed a foot away front the instrument, as the sound radiates so well, that was all that was needed.
