Showed up and Dave wasn't at the studio. Called him and he said to come downtown to the Taj club for some live sound. Assisted (some) in running mics for the drums in Nellie Pearl. Met rep from Axxis, who provided the heavy equipment for this gig. He used to work for Dave when he ran New Vintage. Said he, too, learned through Recording Connection. Small world. 

Simple tips for inputs through the stage snake/board: numerically from stage right to stage left., cluster instrument types, separate by empty channel. (i.e. drums: 1-4, keys/guitars 5-9, etc.) Often you won't need to even label them.
