I went to the studio with Fern in the afternoon. Fern told me about a concert he was doing sound for on Sunday April 1st 2018. We looked up the Super Organism, the band performing, and he showed me the ryder. I work at a bar Fridays and Saturdays so I was excited about going to my first show.

I went to the studio and found out Super Organism was actually performing on Saturday so I couldn't go. We went over Chapter 2, I asked a lot of questions and we talked about things past Chapter 2 briefly.

Fern texted me to say that I was invited to do sound with him Monday. He emailed me the ryder. I was very excited.

I went to Belmont, the club. around 4pm to set everything up before the show. I helped connect XLR wires and saw how Fern tested all the sounds. The doors opened at 7pm and the show started at 8pm. There were 3 bands playing that night so I would go on stage and help change some wire. Collin is one of Fern's students and he works at the Belmont as Fern's helper and he does the lights during the show. He was super friendly and helpful. We exchanged numbers and he told me I could come help set up for shows even when Fern is not there. It was a great learning experience.
I, sometimes, felt like I was more in the way than helping. When I talked about it to Fern, He laughed and told me not to worry about it since I'm still learning. I can't wait to feel more comfortable and knowledgable setting up for shows.

I went to the studio and Fern showed me in detail everything he did on the board Monday night. It was great! I just wish I had more hands-on time to experiment with the board. I am seeing him next week and hopefully, I will go help with another show next week.
