My mentor took me over his basic mix setup- how he organizes things, with everything from track order and colour to buses etc coming into play. Easy to see how this can be overlooked, but it's definitely a vital part of engineering. It's clear that a good workflow will not only increase efficiency, it can also save CPU and alot of headache. Mixing with stems was something I'd heard mention of, but had not experimented with before. I will definitely be incorporating these ideas into my mixes from now on.
