Today at the studio, one of the eq's on the SSL console in the mez stopped working. We were there with Chris, who took out the specific channel that wasn't working and played around with it untill he was able to diagnose the problem. It turned out that the switch card for the eq wasn't working, so it was replaced with a working one and the problem was solved. We also helped set up the mez for the artists who were coming in later that day. After that, we spent time in the mastering room with Marc, who was mixing a new Yung Buck record. He explained the duties of an audio engineer, and taught us about brickwall limiters and their function. We also watched as the song was cleaned from any clicks, and other unwanted frequencies.
