Today at the studio we started out by testing all of the outboard gear in the mez. We ran a signal from a mic through it all to make sure everything was running smoothley. After that we had an in depth lesson on the SSL console. We went over the channel strip and how each section worked. We also went over the patchbay, and patched an audio signal from the mic, into the board, into pro tools, and then back out to the board. After that we went over some more advanced methods of proccesing, such as parallel compression, and plated reverb. The day finished with a lesson on vocal processing and we watched Vinny mix Rohans vocals in a song they made together.
