This week in addition to the upcoming chapters, I've found myself looking back a little. I thought it would be a great idea to redread the chapter on microphone placement. While I've definitely learned to never underestimate the importance of not only microphone types and their use in any particular room. I felt the need to sharpen my knowledge a little more. What seems to be more and more of a recurring theme as I move further along, is trying as best as possible to get things right and make corrections in the beginning stages. Mapping things out correctly to cut down on latency and clipping, sharpening things like vocals, knowing when you're in a dead room, doing everything possible at the beginning stages so as not to produce an "amateur" mix. This particular review has also helped me narrow my focus as it pertains to the types of microphone I feel work best for whatever project im working on. And, as always, practice...and trial and error continue to be great teachers in addition to my actual ones
