Midterm/Mixdown Lab

Today was the midterm!  I felt that I did pretty well and I also cleared up some misconceptions I had about some things.  It's always good to learn or re-learn some of the things I learned earlier in my lessons and brush up on them!  The midterm consisted of multiple sections where I listed types of EQs, the controls found on compressors, the controls found on reverb units, and other shorter questions.

We then did the mixdown lab which I had been learning bit by bit from going in for studio sessions and helping out for Matt's weekend radio shows in which he records live bands for a live internet show.  I used what I learned from those sessions in my mixdown lab including wiring of the patch bay, aux sends within ProTools, Miking up guitar amps, drums, and other instruments, and also setting up the tracks within ProTools and their levels, panning, etc.  It was nice to do my own little session and gave me a more intricate look into the process of an audio engineer! All in all it was a good midterm!
