Signal Processing time Based Reverb Delay Posted on 2013-06-30 by Tobias Langston

Date 6-29-13 Time in 4:30 Time out 8:30 Lesson 14

For this lesson we went over Reverbation or Reverb for short.  Reverb is the way sound waves reflect off various surfaces before reaching the listener.  Reverb signals may be divided into three componets, from Direct signal, Early relfection, and Reverbation. Direct, original sound wave travels directly from source to listener.  Early reflecrions, first reflection that bounces back to the listener from large boundries.  Reverbation, comprisedd of zillons of randon reflections that travel to boundry to boundry.  Some major sources of reverb is, hall, chamber, plate, reverse, gate, springs, acoustic, digital. Most delays an average of 35ms or greater can be preceived as discreet delays.  Also went over choursing which is two identical signals that are slighty detuned in relation to each other and one is slighty delayed making it sound like more voices or instuments.  And we have access to many effects by inserting plug ins. While n the studio we had a client who was really good at opera singing who i have met before, his named was Ivan.
