Sync and Automation Posted on 2013-07-26 by Tobias Langston

Time in 6:00pm Time out 9:00pm Lesson 17 Date 7-25-13

For this lesson Asaf and I went over sync and automation, using both in the studio but mostly automation in Asaf studio, and sync not as much.  Syn is used to lock multiple transports together.  A standard method of interlocking audio, video, and transports uses a specfic signal is timecode.  In the Pro tools the play, pause, stop, record and fast forward are mechanisms called transpoint.  When faders move up and down on a console it is a form of automation, console automation operates in 3 basic modes, write, latch, read.  And other kinds of console automation is moving fader, voltage control, midi based, and software controlled.  After our lesson we went over the beat i was working  so he can give me a few pointers and help out on it.
