After completing the dynamic signal processing chapter/lesson many of my questions were answered. I didn't understand what the real functinaltiy of a compressor was, so with the help of my mentor Joey Heier and reviewing the chapter, alot of things are clear to me now. Learning the different dynamic range processors such as a compressor/limiter, gates, and expander. Not only did I learn what they are used for but helped explained the different parameters for each of the dynamic processors. There is also the de-esser plugin which will help with vocals on smoothing out pronunciation of letters such as S, T, and C. Dynamic signal processing is a huge part of getting an amazing mix and also master. After so much learned during this chapter I understand that dynamic signal processing can really change the outcome of the final product.
