This is getting good. I had just installed Pro-Tools (aka Bro-Tools) at home and wasn't sure if I did it right, because I couldn't find the faders like an ass. I walked into Joe's studio and asked, "Where do I see the faders?" To which Joe replied, "Right now!" Hilarious. He walked right over to that state of the art board and brought up some alt-rock tracks he had recorded. I should've taken video, but I wanted to be in the moment. The studio filled with sound of this gritty artist playing guitar, drums, and singing. All the faders were bumping. We went over some panning, plugins, and muting examples. Joe even intriduced me to his sub-kick mic. I had never seen one of those before and did not know what it was. I confessed to Joe that we're entering territory I don't know crap about and he assured me again we'll get everything figured out. Just like any lessons or classes you may take, the instructor is what makes you or breaks you with respect to the material. I'm glad I have that Joey Heier. Awesome teacher and a really good Dude.
