It's been awhile since I blogged. Today at the studio was a big day for me. I learned alot today. I saw a dj producer come in and watched him show his songs to Joey and Joey giving feedback to him. I am not particularly into dj music, but to me, a real musician can appreciate eveything. It was incredible to hear the songs he has made just from a DAW and a digital piano plug-in/midi. I watched as they talked, the two of them, and wrote down an incredible amount of questions to ask Joey once he left. I asked alot about high pass filters and amplifying initial transient and Joey described them in ways that made perfect sense. See Joey, my mentor, doesn't just give simple dictionary definitions, he explains them through real life similies. I am so excited about learning more and more as my half way point of recording connection comes up. I am also extremely excited to work with Elk Embassy, a band I brought in to do an EP with Joey, and go into the studio for another session this Sunday. I know I haven't blogged about those experiences yet, but I will tell you about what all we have accomplished and done so far at the studio after Sunday is over.
