I don’t think it’s a mistake as to why they call pro tools the industry standard. And learning to use it could effectively change my legitimacy as a producer. If I were an artist I would never fully trust a producer that didn’t even know how to effectively operate their software.
That being said it is never really easy learning something new.
But I am sure that the knowledge will be well worth it when it comes to dealing with clients.
And not only is it important to learn because of credibility but also because it could exponentially decrease the time that it will take to complete a project. And since studios mostly charge by the hour, that could save your clients a good amount of money as well as saving yourself time to work with other clients.
To sum all of this up, nobody wants to pay extra money for a producer that doesn’t fully understand their software and who will make them pay extra money because it takes them an unnecessary amount of time to learn the software.
