Lesson 15 Time Based Effects Posted on 2017-11-27 by Mike-Cole

This is where things really get interesting. Much like EQ there is no right amount of reverb you can put on a track. There is no absolute correct amount of chorus that a guitar track needs, it is all based upon personal preference.

In my earlier tracks I used to use reverb to hide tracks that weren’t recorded as well which I would later learn is a complete disgrace to recording.

Reverb is a very cool effect that can aesthetically enhance the spacing and overall feel to your tracks if you know how to used it.

Some examples of tracks I really enjoy playing around with reverb are on guitar tracks as well as vocal tracks.

Just like EQ and compression, the ways in which you use time based effects can have a drastic difference on the track as a whole.
