I have been in the recording connection program for about a month now. I am learning a lot and eager to learn more. At first I was a bit overwhelmed. Everything seemed extremely complicated, and there was some math involved which is not my strong suit. However, my mentor Joey Heier has a way of explaining things that make it very easy to understand. So far I have learned how sound waves work and how the human ear interepts sound. All very fascinating. I also learned the proper way to set up a studio, including speaker placement and different acoustics for different rooms. I now know how important levels are. I've learned the sound levels that are the industry standard for mixing audio. In addition I have learned the difference between different types of microphones and what they are used for to create a desired sound.
