My mentor was able to tour me around the studio after our lesson on mics.
He had his room set up from the night before.
It was a great example because he showed me how finagle mics around and over a drum set, without distorting the sound or ruining your mics.
I was able to look at every single mic from the text book because he basically had that many set up, from amp mics, to snare drum mics, to wall mics, to neuman mics for accoustics and live singing.
A lot to take in, but very visually helpful.
