In chapter three I learned lots of interesting facts about the different file formats and how they differ. One very interesting fact is how the D.A.W and audio recording world is so hi-tech and advanced, yet the mp3 is the worst format for music to be played through.
My mentor stressed the importance of the Nyquist Theorem and why it is important. We discussed bit depth and sample rate. To better understand, he drew me some examples of what a wave form looks like with a small sample rate compared to a larger sample rate.
In this chapter I also got to read about all the different recording devices that have been used over the years such as ADAT, Analog tape and the present Protools systems.
