It's really nice to have a second set of ears when getting opinions on one's own music! To have a producer of 20 years who has been around music his whole life, disect my music is another thing. For instance, on one track I have 4 kick drums playing at the same time that are stereo samples. Steve brought these stereo kick samples and panned them into the middle and then printed them all together on one "mono" track as they sounded good together. Now 1 track vs. 4! Much easier on the cpu! Steve showed me the "side widener" plug in which spreads out the stereo image of a track, so great for stereo synth sounds! Everything has been explained and/or observed at this point, so now it's just applying these changes for myself. I usually record every major topic Steve discusses, so I can listen back when I'm driving in the car. Fountain of knowledge that guy!
