well i got to do a mic shootout today! that was very interesting to see the different effects you can get just moving the mic a little bit of axis! all the different types of eq's you can get from it and using different mics. The condenser mic was a lot louder than the sm57 mic. i learned about distant miking, close miking, accent miking, ambient miking. i also learned about spaced pair and xy the blumlein pair and decca tree which i got to see in action when we had a high school jazz band come in and record an albulm. we used the decca tree for the horn section. i got to see all kinds of different microphone placement on different instruments and the vocalist. afterwards i got to see the mixing and editing part of it as well. I couldnt believe all the different things you can do with a little technology in pro tools and melodyne.
