Week 17 Posted on 2013-08-10 by Isaiah Putman

This week I continued working on mixing “Goosebumps”. Monday I spent fixing the MIDI organ part, getting all the notes to line up and correct the missed notes and adjusting lengths. This took an inordinate amount of time since it was a nearly 7-minute track. Also adjusted the patch setting to get it blend in best with the rest of the track.

Thursday I spent doing a full mix of the song and making minor adjustments to all the plug-ins. I put the guitar way up front. The organ is really obvious when it first comes in but becomes much more a background figure later on when everything’s happening at once, and I didn’t even adjust the volume. The bass I put just behind the guitar, and the guitar harmony I panned slightly to the right. The drums are a little more forward than I generally hear on recordings, but I thought the whole package blended very well. And the clients said it was amazing, so that’s what matters.
