In chapter 14 I learned more about dynamic signal processing. The main thing used in dsp are compressors. Compressors limit the dynamic range of sound by using a threshold and ratio on the louder sounds and make them more quiet. Limiting is very similar to compression, the only difference is that limiting uses a very high ratio so it almost completely stops the sound from getting any louder than the threshold. There are also expanders which are the opposite of compressors. Expander actually increase dynamic range. In the studio with Mark Sinko we mixed the country song that we recorded a few days back. It was just 2 guitars and vocals so it wasn't too hard.
