Acoustics and Monitoring Posted on 2016-02-10 by Angelina Alvarado

Acoustics - the study of how sound waves behave in an environment. Chapter 18 was all about acoustics, the first part of the chapter was about the history of acoustics; it included the production of sound, propagation of sound and reception of sound. Next section was the characteristics of sound, which explained and had examples of amplitude, antinode, crest, frequency, harmonics, phase shift, etc. Then I read through room acoustics and lastly about studio design and monitoring. Learned about some acoustic treatments which will help with the frequency response in your environment. I then finished the chapter reading about monitors and how they should be placed. Then finished it by taking the chapter 18 quiz.
