Last time at the studio I got a chance to do some more mixing. It was of this jam band song which consisted of drums, bass, guitar, and vocals. I mixed it all in the box using various plugins. Did some eqing and compressing on each instrument and vocals. I used parallel compression for the drums which helped them tighten up and punch more. Another thing I did was add some delay feedback automation on this vocals line during the breakdown. I also used a flanger plugin on the guitar during this part of the song. I think it helped to create more space and added more things to listen to during this part which sounded pretty empty before. Overall it was another good experience and was helpful in learning because my mentor was there giving me specific pointers on tweaking certain parameters to get things to sound better. - Brett Robinson
