Last time at the studio we went over some aspects of Mastering. I learned that using different kinds of metering systems (eq spectum, stereo field, RMS and Peak voltage) can be very helpful in this process. I also learned that when mastering multiple tracks to go on an album together, it is good to put all the stereo bounced audio clips in the same Pro Tools session to master them all together. From there you can compare them with the various metering systems to match their content using eq, compressing, limiting, and stereo imaging techniques. Also interesting to note that some tracks can benefit from applying careful amounts of distortion. -Brett Robinson
