So this blog thing is new for me, but I am looking forward to learning the ins and outs of it, and perhaps it will turn out to be something that someone actually wants to read. I had my first sesson with my mentor last Wednesday, and I thought it went rather well. I think I understood the material from ch.1 fairly well, although I did miss one question on the chapter test. It was a dumb mistake that I would have gotten correct if I hadn't been rushing. One thing I did learn in addition to the book material is about speaker placement and where the stereo image is best heard. The best place for listening is the same distance away from the speakers as their distance apart from each other. That is to say that if the speakers are 5 feet apart, one should listen 5 feet in front of the speakers.
