For the longest time I struggled with the concept of sends, returns, and inserts. I would always hear engineers referencing these terms and how they would use certain processing techniques but I would always get caught up in what they meant. After really taking some time to study signal flow and the way that you can route different signals for different effects, I was able to nail down these concepts. Zach helped me tremendously with learning how to use parrallel compression and also showed me some tricks to create "fat" drums with saturation.
