After reading this chapter I started to become more aware of my listening enviornment. I did not know that the room in which you produce or mix music has such a large effect on your hearing. This effect on your hearing ultimately affects the decision you make at mixdown. I was alarmed when I first read this because I realized I could be potentially ruining mixes by mixing them in untreated environments (like my bedroom). I spoke with my mentor about this and he told me I should be weary about eq'ing in an untreated room because I could be doing more harm than good. I plan on getting into a treated room whenever I truly need to mix a project for a client.
