Coming Into My Own Posted on 2016-06-03 by Michael Wiener

Howdy Y'all,

It's been awhile since my last blog post but I'm happy to say that I have only good news to share! I have been VERY busy since my last blog post and the music world never stops turning. I went to Coachella, booked my first mixing client outside of the studio, and started teaching private instruction for Ableton Live!

As always, Coachella was an amazing experience for me and I know I grew from it. I always take Coachella for the opportunity it provides to kick back and let go of things outside of the beautiful Empire Polo Fields. I soak in the energy of the music, the people there enjoying the music, the sunshine, and the company of others who share my love for the experience. I also take it as an opportunity to assess up and coming trends inside of the music industry. Rising talents may be making their debut, or hit artists from the previous year may be kicking off their festival tour. Either way, it's a grand f*cking time!

Being around the music in such as capacity lit a fire underneath my ass to get serious on the business side of my recording career, and soon after Coachella I booked my first client. I am wrapping up his mixtape right now and am excited to work with him in the future.

I also decided to get things going with a friend of mine who is in the biz himself, Jesse Marseille, who teaches guitar in the Bay Area and is an extremely talented man. Jesse and I have formed an electronic group by the name of, "LadiesLoveLadies". You can expect to hear our EP out later this year, and it will be funky.

As part of that venture, Jesse is trading me guitar lessons for me to teach him the intricate and powerful program by Ableton, Live 9. Together with my engineering skills I am continually developing at 3Pt. studios, I am overcome with joy and stress trying to carve out a place in the industry for myself.

WIth Love,

MikeyMixedIt
