Its been a little big of a struggle to make it to the studio as much as i want to ( being around 4 or 5 days a week) because i havent quite found an apartment up here in Spokane but soon thats going to change. In the next week i should be in my new apartment and will be able to make the studio my second home, but that doesnt mean i havent experienced some exciting new discoveries. First off i met this rapper which was exciting because that is the main genre i want to focus on in my career and i acutally enjoyed his song he had alot of lyrical comprehension and the affects Jimmy used gived it a west coast feel i enjoyed as well.
Ive also learned quite a few things from my mentor Jimmy Hill, importants tips like if you record the same instrument say for example a guitar over twice it will give you a way heavier sound. Also he taught me that some audio equipment only works with Direct Current so you need an AC/DC converter to make them work correctly. Ive also been suprised at how passionate Jimmy is about his work, I've been here for a few sessions and every time I see an artist to come in here they expect a good job but dont take the time to look over their own work. Hopefully me being under Jimmys wing will stray me away from this path an keep me on track to realizing my dream of becoming a big time producer.
