Session 8 was an introduction to Pro Tools, it's history and development and why it's the industry standard today for music, and even film. I had my mentor demonstrate Pro Tools for me, and now that I saw a demonstration, I understand it better and now look forward to playing around with Pro Tools on my own. I at first found Pro Tools to be intimidating (but stil interesting, just needed some nudging). However, it is nothing like Tracktion which was just plain scary. Just thinking about it makes the PTSD worse. Urgh. (I have a bit of a dark sense of humor). Tracktion was the standard at university. But I always wanted to try Pro Tools, and now that I have it and understand it better, I'm itching to start using it. The only thing I still need to get around is the key command shortcuts (Command + N, etc). I'm so used to using a mouse and clicking. It think the next chapter goes into that more, as it is on the basic of Pro Tools.
