The physics of audio. Posted on 2015-05-21 by Jerry Shubert II

It is so neat the way we were designed. I believe God made us in a unique and complex image--his image; BUT if you don't that's okay my friend. I'm not hear to preach. I still love the way that we became the way that we became. Whatever means that it is that we arrived in our current state.

Chapter one of this course talks about how we hear. The way vibrations in the air are interperated as sound to our brains. The way our outter ear "funnels" the vibrating sound into our inner ear and vibrates our ear drum and causes our maleous, incus and stapes and move and push on our cochlea. It even amplifies the signal by 22%! The Stapes surface area is 22 x smaller than the ear drum. And then the COCHLEA!!! Oh wow! from the reeds to the hair fibers to the nerve endings...just wow! I can't believe it! That's GENIUS!!! Genius!!! So proud that I now know that.
