Chapter 3 was very important and the first step in getting into the recording and saving of digital recordings. I never took the time to differentiate between the types of files, and how to save those files, or how much space recording would take up. I knew mp3 was the most widely known form of digital audio format, but when learning about lossy file compression i started to like that one better. When recording music you can use up alot of space on a computer or extended piece of storage software; and using a lossy file compression could help in limiting the size of the files by getting rid of the frequency ranges an average person cannot hear.
