Well, I have just started my second week apprenticing at Trench Recordings, and I experienced a live floor recording session today! Leeroy Stagger came by and recorded some songs for their album "Love Versus". I appreciated how much attention to detail went into the setup for the session. I want to say there was eleven mics combined, all positioned just right. Sound tests. Gobo positioning. Everyone there, the artists, Lionel, and Steve, an engineer for Sirius Satellite Radio, were all so efficient and prepared. I was thrilled at the sweet sounds from the control room during the session. Nothing could possibly replace the experience of physically being there, you try to imagine but it always seems to differ from what you thought, in this case certainly for the better. I enjoyed the music for sure, and I think the album is going to be great!
