Today was my first day of my new journey in life as I study audio engineering. I was looking forward and a bit excited for my first session with my mentor, Mr. Lionel. Our lesson was about Sound & Hearing. I learned how engineers should take care of their hearing and always cautious about their safety. I learned that human ear is limited in hearing certain frequencies. 

In taking care of safety in hearing, Mr. Lionel explained to me what causes hearing loss. He explained to me that traumatic head accident-that causes a part of your brain that is connected to your ear causes hearing loss. He also mentioned that exposing yourself with loud sound for a long period of time can cause hearing loss as well. 

Mr. Lionel showed me how limited human ear is in hearing certain frequencies by making me listen to some frequencies. 

After the lesson, I asked him a question about what causes feedbacks and how can I control it. I am currently working as a live sound operator in our church that is why I asked. I learned that in a particular place, there are already certain frequencies that's in that place and when you set up microphones, it picks up those sound. And when someone uses the microphone and there is a feedback, you want to take that unnecessary frequencies that causes the feedback. 

Those are my experience and the things I learned in my first session with my mentor. I’m looking forward to learn more and more about audio engineering. This is the end of my first blog. Thanks for reading. God Bless.
