This session proved very worthwhile in that, reading the chapter on microphone placement was very informative, but everthing became much clearer when I actually saw it demonstrated in the studio and was able to ask questions. For example, the drawings used in the text are good, but seeing a acoustic guitar actually miked makes it clearer. 

We also went over the different types of microphones again, with examples of each.

Next week I will visit the studio again to observe another recording session. I'm looking forward to seeing how each instrument is miked and compair it with my notes from the textbook.
