Week 16 BLS Posted on 2015-01-21 by Mitch Darlington

This week I helped kaj organise some video clips they had taken of all of the engineers answering 19 questions. I seperated some of the videos; finding the best takes for each question. Another intern put together the first two questions with four different engineers answers. This was pretty interesting to see because the first two questions were about how they got into audio enineering. It wasnt so far off from why I started which inspires me to keep at it because if they can do it so can I! Also the other engineer worked on some vocal tracks on his own song.

On my second day I came in and for my first few hours Kaj had a meeting in the lounge while I stayed in the control room and worked on my mix assignment and finished up my chapter. After he was done Kaj worked on some updates for mastering Delf's tracks. This was Great! Delf was the producer that Kaj worked with on my first couple of weeks of the program. It was great to hear the nearly finished product of some of the songs I helped work on.

After that Schara, another artist Kaj and I had previously worked with on her cover of a Peaches song. She had some feedback from a record company and her nd Kaj had completely changed the way the song sounded. Again it was fun to see how things can change completely in the studio. Also this was perfect because My current chapter had been on MIDI and we were using various synthesizers and a midi keyboard on the track. Gave me some good ideas for my next assignment.
