Key things we went over :  Proximity Effect  & Polar Patterns

As well as over types of mics  Moving Coil & Ribbon Mics

* Outside of lesson : We usually do some patching practice on the Studio Patch Bay : where we patch in mics headphones,  when miking a drumset or any instrument or vocals there is miking that takes place.  From the types of mics used for certain instruments or for cataching certain sounds as well as the placement of where the artist will sit.

Patching Example 1: In ISO Booth #1  XLR # 3

to  AVALON Mic In , Out of Avalon to Protools Input #5 / Output 3-4

We also observed two of the students who are further in the program have a mini editing contest between the two of each other to see whos edits were better than the others. They edited a track by the Chicago Rapper "Twista" .. the end result they both had good edits but also some that couldve of improved. After this we then discussed the good and the bad and how we could improve the sound of the track properly.
