This time around I learned about MIDI, the different virtual instruments, and how to go about creating a beat with those instruments. At first I had a hard time getting sound through but lucky for me I had an earlier version of Pro Tools 10 on my desktop and Pro Tools 11 in my mother's studio. It was interesting to know that as big as Pro Tools is by name alone it has draw backs as far as not having many capabilities in beat making like other DAW's and focuses mainly on production and mixing. It's pretty much a cameras vs camcorders type of thing. When I walked in the studio I saw the elderly couple again who had just finished their book and before leaving noted how impressed they were with Joe's work (coming from two people who have extensive recording history backgrounds) going so far as to call him a "Master" and letting me know how fortunate I am to be under his tutelage. Even though I know how fortunate I am, I never get tired of hearing those words from different people.
