This was the lesson that finally demystified what it means to master a sesion and I'm so glad to have that clear uderstanding because for so long I though mixing and mastering was one in the same. When I met up with Joe, he was in the middle of mastering a track that he recieved from an artist all the way from Russia. Kind of cool to know that your mentors' name travels that far which shows that you don't have to be rich to be well known. He mastered the track using a plugin called "Ozone Advanced 5" that had different sections like Equalizer, Post Equalizer, Reverb, and Harmonic Excitement. He also gave a clearer explanation on "Dither" and when to use it so you don't have to worry about qauntization errors in the final mix. Now I'm just working on my final mixing project while also studying for my final exam so I can put a nice finish on this near 6 month journey and make my mentor proud.
