This assignment on making a rough mix is going great. Tony has showed me ways to organized tracks in Pro Tools. One of them being color coding your tracks. He helped me set up some busses and it helped me understand the the world of bussing a lot better now that I actually got to do it with my own hands. We talked about Eqing a lot and how too much EQ could hurt you along with compression. I now have a great reference sheet to understand what is good to EQ and the purpose for it. For example, boosting 80-100HZ up 1 or 2 dB to add a little body to the kick drum and I have may more for vocals, acoustic, bass and electric guitar and drums. This little assignment has become a little fun but, still a bit confusing sometimes. But, I'm sure it will clear up the more I do it.
