What a journey. My school work had stalled between my last blog entry and now, but for good reason. Halfway through my internship at Nitrosonic, I was officially hired as a Studio Manager and Engineer. Up until that point, I had tracked and/or mixed and/or mastered on 99.9% of the projects that came through the door. The owner of the studio was ready to sell the building because business was slow and he had another job waiting for him in Raleigh. A month before he moved, he asked me if I wanted to take over management of the studio along with another former intern, Zac Shoopman. The previous manager had moved to Ohio when I took two months off starting in February because my father passed away. He still handles Nitrosonic's label and answers the phone for studio clients. It has been about 3 weeks since I've taken over. Zac has another job as a waiter, so I've been pretty much on my own since Brian moved. But I can honestly say, that after two business classes at a community college and with the training I've recieved so far in engineering and music, I'm good at my job and I will only get better.
