This past Wednesday and Friday I received my introductory to my first real studio experience. We spent the first day reviewing the course material and accenting the differences between "volumes" and "levels". My mentor and I also expanded on positions that the music industry offers, which was a great eye opener. I than began my first sit-in during a session with Logan, a free-lance engineer, and later witnessed the basics of the mastering process. Continuing into Friday I became more acquainted with Engine Room Audio's staff and met with close friends and cliental. To add on to Wednesday's knowledge I was granted the opportunity to sit-in a mixing session, where I was shown tricks and short cuts within pro tools. This past week was an extraordinary experience and I can't wait until my next lesson.
